Perhaps you’re new to Revel, or maybe you’ve been here from the beginning in 2019. In either case we thought it would be helpful to explain how we at Revel HQ envision all of our event offerings. The bulk of our events are created and attended by members, because you are the heart of the community. Our goal is to offer a large, welcoming space where every woman of a certain age can be creative and find her tribe.
In addition to the fabulous events that our members create we do host a series of “Revel HQ” Events. Here’s a bit more about the different event types we offer:
Here at Revel, the vast majority of our events are run by members just like you! See our Why Host page for ideas and inspiration, and/or please consider joining our weekly Hosting Q&A event where a member of the team is always available to answer questions, bounce around ideas, and give you encouragement to host your first Revel event!
Twice a day, every day, members who opt-in receive an email reminding them that “The Daily Revel Is Now Open.” You just have to click on the embedded link and voila, you're in a room with other Revelers who are craving a little unstructured girlfriend time. No host, no moderator, no agenda, just an empty virtual room where women can talk, get advice, crack jokes, share stories.
In addition to the satisfaction of creating something from nothing, the self-confidence that becoming a leader in the community provides, and the happiness and connection you’ll derive from meeting fabulous new women, all Hosts are invited to four private Host workshops per year, on subjects like public speaking, tablescape art, etc. An upcoming example can be found here.
A few times a week, you’ll notice events on the Revel calendar which are run by Revel HQ. Sometimes these are webinars, sometimes interactive virtual meetings, and sometimes local in-real-life events, all of which is determined by the subject matter, speaker availability etc. Generally Revel HQ events fall under subjects we are certain will be fascinating to many of you — authors, experts, celebrities, founders — and sometimes they are partner events, where a company has a brand or an offering (discounts!) that we’re confident will appeal and think you’ll want to learn more about. Examples of these are here and here.
Starting in 2022, a small sliver of our offerings will be led by Revel Experts, and those will have fees associated with them for participation. Revel Experts will be members of the community whom we consider to be exceptional professionals in their fields. They’ll offer either individual classes or series on topics of their choice, and we will only engage a small number of carefully chosen Revel Experts per year so as to keep the bulk of our offerings by members, for members
