Location: Houston, TX since 2020. Before that, 20+ years in NYC, before that, LA, SF and Shanghai. I get around!
Growing up I was always a good student, a leader, a people pleaser. I had goals and I achieved them. But in my early forties, it all came crashing down. I was a successful credit analyst on Wall Street before staying home with my kids. On the outside it looked like I had achieved everything I set out to achieve, the degrees, the jobs, the titles, the husband, two beautiful children, the house, but inside I was deeply unhappy. How could this be? I asked myself every day. If I wasn't happy, then who is? What do I need to obtain to be happy? I joined a coaching program in NYC to help me be a better parent to my kids. (I was treating them like my Wall Street employees, which didn't work too well). Little did I know how much I got coached and started to evolve, letting go of a lot of beliefs that no longer serve me. My mindset shifted and I learned to take care, honor and respect myself, to get out of my head, connect with my body and all the wisdom it holds, to get in tune with the greater universe. I am now passionate about helping other women transition and becoming a fuller happier version of themselves. "Live deliciously" is my new motto. Soon to launch - lindakwokcoaching.com
I love my kids. Moving them to Houston at ages 11 and 9 during a pandemic hasn't been easy. I am happy to see them nicely settled into a new school. My girl is starring in her theater show and my son is taking up the trombone. They are both doing track. Seeing them adjusting, thriving and making friends is the best thing for me.
"How to grow amaryllis outside?"
The Gilded Age. So good, so conniving these women. I also love the costumes, the sets and my beloved NYC!
Next weekend my husband and I have a fundraiser in Houston downtown for the Houston Grand Opera. We are spending the night at a newly-renovated nearby hotel. This is the first time since Covid we’re getting away on a mini vacation. I am so excited to dress up, have a nice dinner with him and dance the night away.
I am a very good investor. I am able to see big picture strategy, size up an opportunity and the team in a very short amount of time. Most of the time, I am right. People are often surprised by it. I guess they don't expect a woman to do this, let alone a stay home Mom in yoga pants and a Mom bun. lol!
Gardening. We recently bought our house in Houston and for the first time I have a big enough yard for some raised beds. I am obsessed with the tomatoes, peppers and squashes I am growing. It's so fun! Wish me luck. I hope we will be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor.
