How To Promote Your Revel Event on Social Media

Your event has been approved on Revel; now what? 

We will promote your event in our “Just Posted” digest emails to members as well as directly on our site itself. However, in order to achieve maximum attendance we highly recommend that you share your event on your own social channels as well! 

Frequently Asked Questions: 

  • Where can I post my Revel event?
    Everywhere! You are welcome to share your event in the Revel community itself, as well as on any and all social media platforms and via email/text message. 
  • Will anyone who sees my event online be able to register?
    Yes. They will be directed to create a Revel account as a part of the registration process (it’s free!) and will then be able to register to attend. 
  • How do I share my event on social media?
    See our guide below! 

Facebook: 

If you are logged on to Facebook with the same device that you use to access Revel you can share your event to Facebook directly from its landing page on Revel following these steps:

  1. Click the ‘Share’ button on the event landing page
  1. Click the ‘Facebook’ button to be directed to share your event directly on your Facebook page. Be sure to tag @HelloRevel so we can re-share your post!

If you’d prefer you can also copy your event’s link by either highlighting and copying the URL or clicking the ‘Copy Link’ button after you hit ‘share’ from your event’s landing page. 

You can then paste this link directly into a Facebook post. Be sure to tag @HelloRevel so we can re-share your post!

Instagram Stories: 

To share your event to your Instagram story with a clickable link to register follow these steps: 

  1. Visit your event’s landing page on the revel app and use the ‘share’ icon to copy the link for your event.
  1. Click the + icon at the top right of your profile page on Instagram.
  1. Select ‘Story’ from the menu that pops up.
  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to take a photo/video or upload one from your phone. 
  2. Click the smiling icon at the top right of the screen.
  1. Seach ‘link’ and select that option when it appears.
  1. Follow the on-screen instructions and paste the link you copied earlier to add it to your post. 
  2. Add any text or graphics you’d like (Be sure to tag @HelloRevel so we can re-share your post.) and then click the ‘Your Stories’ button at the bottom left of your screen to share your post to your Instagram story!

Instagram Post: 

A URL shared in the text of an Instagram post won’t be clickable so if you’d like to share your event via your Instagram feed we recommend starting by adding a link to your Instagram bio: 

  1. Repeat step 1 from the Instagram Story tutorial above. 
  2. Visit your Instagram profile page and click ‘Edit Profile’
  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your event’s URL in the ‘Website’section of your profile. 
  2. Repeat step 2 from the Instagram Story tutorial above and then select ‘Post’’ from the menu that appears.
  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your post and use the caption to direct viewers to the link in your bio to sign up for your event. Be sure to tag @HelloRevel so we can re-share your post!

LinkedIn/Twitter Posts:

These are both super-simple platforms to share your event on.

  1. Copy your event’s link by either highlighting and copying the URL or clicking the ‘Copy Link’ button after you hit ‘share’ from your event’s landing page.
  1. Paste this link directly into a LinkedIn or Twitter post to share your event!
